Does Christian County need a bigger and better library?

On August 8th, 2017, you will have the opportunity to decide on the future of libraries in Christian County. You may also have a chance to vote on tax and bond issues, depending on your precinct.

Make sure you are registered to vote by July 12th! If you have moved to Christian County or moved inside Christian County, make sure to re-register with the County Clerk’s office. You can also see a sample ballot for your precinct at this location.

Here is the ballot language for the Library issue: Shall the trustees of the Christian County Library be authorized to renew its tax levy to the previously voted and approved rate of $0.20 per one hundred dollars assessed valuation for the purpose of 1) increasin

g the budget for books, materials, computers & technology; 2) expanding library services throughout the county with planned locations in Nixa, Sparta, and Clever, with improvements to the Ozark facility?

Are you going to be out of the county on election day?  

Don’t worry, absentee voting begins June 27th. Again, check with the County Clerk’s office. Absentee voting will end on August 5th.

Are you without a valid photo id?? There are still a lot of questions concerning the new law on voter photo id. But according to the Secretary of State’s office “If you are registered to vote, you can vote!” (But if you do not have a government-issued photo id, you will be required to sign an affidavit and/or receive a provisional ballot.)
