Mardi Gras 2015 meeting

Mardi Gras 2015 meeting

The Democrat Club of Christian County meets monthly, generally on the third Tuesday of the month. We try to meet in different areas of the county and often members host a meeting in their homes. We meet at 6:00 pm for a social hour and then begin the meeting at 7:00 pm. Anyone is welcome to attend our meetings, but to vote you must become a member. Membership is $20 a year. Our members come from across the county, including Sparta, Billings, Ozark, Nixa, Republic, Spokane, Highlandville.

The Club’s main purpose is to foster growth and development of the Democratic Party at all levels. We keep our members informed about political issues and candidates and help with fundraising for candidates.

Nixa Sucker Day - Local Candidates Greet

Local candidates Bob Rubino and David Stokely greet the community at Nixa’s Sucker Day event

We are also active in community events and support community ideals we believe in. Our biggest community project is in supporting Least of These, Christian County’s food pantry and clothing closet. Every meeting we collect food items or cash for this worthwhile organization as well as collecting local produce in the summer and fall at our farmers’ markets.

The Club also helps the Central Committee with fundraising, community events (such as local fairs and business expos), and the annual Holiday Party.
