Christian County Democrats

The 20th Senatorial District Committee will meet to nominate and elect our representatives to the Missouri Democratic State Committee in accordance with MDP bylaws, which state:

“On the Saturday in November after each general election, the Senatorial District Committee shall elect two (2) registered voters of the district, one (1) man and one (1) woman, as members of the State Committee.”

Any registered voter who is a resident of the 20th Senatorial District may be nominated

to serve as a State Committeeman or Committeewoman.

Those who are eligible to vote as members of the 20th Senatorial Committee include:

• Christian and Greene County Committee Chairs and Vice Chairs

• Legislative District Chairs and Vice Chairs whose districts overlap the 20th

• Other Committeemen and Committeewomen of Precincts, Wards and Townships that overlap the 20th

The meeting will be held on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at  10:00 AM at the Planning & Zoning Building in Ozark on Jackson St. next to Sonic.

General Election in Christian County—November 6

YOU will be voting for our next US Senator and our next US Representative.

YOU will also be voting for our next State Senator, State Auditor and State Representative; YOU will be voting for our next County Presiding Commissioner, County Clerk, Circuit Court Clerk, Recorder of Deeds, Collector of Revenue, Prosecuting Attorney, and County Auditor.

YOU will be able to choose local judges and choose which judges should be retained or not.

AND yes, there’s more! YOU have 4 Missouri Constitutional Amendments to vote on, and 3 Missouri Propositions.

These are all IMPORTANT positions. Please be informed! Here are some sites to visit to make a wise decision: Check the Christian County Headliner or the Springfield News-Leader, or the League of Women Voters “Voter’s Guide” (at local libraries and stores). If you can’t find a copy of the “Voter’s Guide,“ go to www.vote411.org.

**We are especially proud that we have local Christian County Democratic candidates running in this election: for the 139th District, Cora Hanf; for the 140th District, Tony Smith; for the 20th Senate District, Jim Billedo; and for Presiding Commissioner, Bob Rubino. The Democrat Club will be meeting at Piccolo Restaurant, 107 W Aldersgate in Nixa, on Tuesday,  October 16. Please join us at 6pm for a social time and dinner, with the meeting beginning at 7pm.

Our speaker will be Sam Smith, Field Organizer of Sen. Claire McCaskill’s Christian Co. Office. This will be our last meeting before the November election!
