Please join fellow Democrats from Southwest Missouri in the annual Jackson Days celebration in Springfield. We will be meeting on Friday, April 8 for free networking and nibbling at the Ramada Oasis Hotel & Convention Center (2446 N Glenstone Avenue, Springfield, Missouri). Browse information booths of political and community organizations and enjoy complimentary food and drink. There will also be a silent auction; you can bid on hundreds of items, including jewelry, home décor, political campaign collectibles, books, and much more! [To donate auction items, take them to the Greene County Democratic Headquarters at 1764 S Fremont Avenue in Springfield, or call 417-886-8980 by April 1.] You may also want to help by bringing nonperishable, single-serve food items (peanut butter crackers, granola bars, etc.) to the Democratic HQ in advance or to the Oasis Friday night. This is a Greene County project to help homeless in the community.
There are many activities you can attend on Saturday, April 9:
8:00 am Democratic Alliance Breakfast featuring Missouri Treasurer candidates Judy Baker and Pat Contreras. Tickets are $30 each.
10:00-11:30 am Candidate/Activist Training Session with the Missouri Budget Project. Go beyond the numbers to see how budget policies and priorities impact people’s lives for better and for worse.
For Sponsors-Only Activities (Sponsorships cost $230) there will be a Noon Luncheon at Hickory Hills Country Club (3909 E Cherry) with singer/songwriter, folklorist and teacher Judy Domeny Bowen! There will also be a 5:00 pm VIP Cocktail Reception with the banquet speakers.

December 5th at the Fremont Hills Country Club, the Christian County Democratic Central Committee had a very successful fundraiser/party. We had two Missouri Democratic candidates and our Democratic County Commissioner speaking, a popular local singer and storyteller entertaining, and the Cattywampus Band enlivening it all. And we all agreed that the dinner provided by Fremont Hills was excellent.
Sue Ann Childers (Christian County Commissioner) began the talks and said she was open to listening to our concerns. Dr. Brad Bradshaw (running for Missouri Lt. Governor) received applause for his stance on Medicaid expansion and he told us of his plans for making Missouri #1 in medical research. Teresa Hensley (running for Missouri Attorney General) spoke to us about her experience as a prosecutor in Cass County and her dedication to seeking justice for all. Marideth Sisco (Ozark storyteller and singer) criticized the hostile environment of political discourse today and challenged us to question those telling untruths. She also sang a couple of her favorite songs. The Cattywampus Band played during dinner and after speeches.
Baskets and pies (prepared by our hardworking members) were auctioned off by Matt Patterson, and silent auction items were awarded to the highest bidder. The Jerry Litton Award was presented to Diane and Kent Stalder by David Lee who spoke of their dedication to Christian County Democrats.
Thanks to everyone who participated and everyone who helped make this lovely party a success (especially the Billedo family)!
